The Miners defeated the Paducah Chiefs 4-2 on Saturday night at Elmer Kelley Stadium. The win lifted the Miners to 2-1 overall and dropped Paducah to 0-3 on the season.
Madisonville opened the scoring with one run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Paducah answered with a run on the top of the fifth to tie the ballgame at 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth, when the Miners got another run to take a 2-1 lead. The Chiefs immediately answered with another run in the top of the seventh and tied the game 2-2 going into the bottom of the inning. The Miners then scored two in the bottom of the frame to reclaim a 4-2 lead and shut the Chiefs down from there to pick up the win.
Christopher Mutter collected the Win for Madisonville, with Michael Sebby earning the Save. Jay Benard took the Loss for the Chiefs.
