Miners Down Bombers 11-9; Updated Stats

Miners Riding Eight Game Winning Streak

Madisonville defeated the visiting Dubois County Bombers 11-9 on Sunday night at Elmer Kelley Stadium. The win gave the Miners eight straight victories, their longest winning streak of the season, and a 20-10 record heading into the OVL All Star break. Dubois County dropped to 17-12.

Tom Prospero and Joe McGuinness drove in three RBI each to pace the Miners. McGuinness drove in one with a single in the first inning and two more with a two-run home run in the third. Prospero drove in one run with a single in the fifth and added two more on another single in the sixth.

Michael Rodriguez delivered the the big blow for the Bombers on a three-run homer in the seventh to cut the Miner lead to 11-9. Austin Saikal added two runs driven in on a 1-for-5 night at the plate.

Madisonville starter Jeff Lindgren earned his third Win of the season, and Mike Ringer shut the Bombers down over the final 1.33 innings to notch his second Save. Dubois County starter Ian Dimitrie took the Loss.

Miners Off Until Wednesday

All OVL teams are off on Monday and Tuesday for the OVL All Star Game break. The All Star Game will be played Tuesday night, July 12, in Paducah beginning at 7:00pm CT. The Miners return to action on Wednesday, July 13, when the Fulton Railroaders travel to Elmer Kelley Stadium.
