(From Fulton) The Madisonville Miners had to pull away from the Railroaders in the final inning to secure their win in Fulton. After jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first two innings play, the Miners appeared to have everything under control for another victory against Fulton. However, the Railroaders finally began scoring with 2 runs in the fourth and another 3 runs in seventh to cut the Miners lead in half. Madisonville answered in the top half of the eighth with 2 more runs for a 12-5 lead. Fulton roared back in the bottom half of the eighth putting up 7 runs and tied the game. In the top of the ninth a triple by Chase Hensley with bases loaded placed the Miners on top to stay.
Additional highlights at the plate for Madisonville were homeruns by Chase Hensley for 2 RBI, Logan Jarvis 2 RBI and JD Minor 2 RBI. In total the Miners had put out 11 hits on the evening.
Fulton shared in the hit parade with homers by Derek Burns for 2 RBI, a solo homerun for Andrew Holderman and a grand slam by Chris Patterson that tied the game in the eighth. The Railroaders produced at total 13 hits in the game.
Winning the game for Madisonville was closer Casey Elbin for 1 2/3 innings of work. Starter Jose Fernandez went for 6 innings and Dylan Ladd in middle relief for 1 1/3 innings.
New comer John Ham takes the loss for Fulton only pitching for 1/3 inning and responsible for the go ahead run. Fulton used six additional pitchers during the game. Of note is Chase Slone who went to the mound twice from playing short stop, one before and then after Ham was called upon to pitch. Slone finished out the game for Fulton.
