Miners Win In Fulton; Host Owensboro Saturday Night

Miners Top Railroaders

(From Fulton) For the second time in the season the Miners took care of business hammering out a big win over the home team Railroaders. Madisonville used 15 hits to produce their 16 run game that included three homeruns for 6 RBI. Fulton’s bats came alive in the seventh inning with 4 of their total 6 game hits to score 5 runs, but were unable at that time to overcome an eight run deficit.

Best at the plate for the Miners were Austin Sistrunk going 2-for-3 with two homeruns (5 RBI), Tom Prospero 4-for-5 a double and 3 RBI, Joe McGuinness 1-for-2 with a double for 3 RBI, and Chase Hensley with a solo homerun.

Cameron Curry hit a solo homerun for Fulton and Jacob Elliot managed a 2 RBI single.

By pre-arrangement, Miners’ starter Jose Fernandez is awarded the win as the pitcher of record leaving the game after 3 innings with a 2-1 lead. Four additional pitchers were used by Madisonville.

Newly reporting Teagan Lind takes the loss going 5 innings, allowing 10 hits, 7 earned runs, 2 walks and had 4 strikeouts. Three Railroader pitchers finished the game.

The win by Madisonville (4-3) moved the Miners into 3rd standing and pushed the Railroaders (3-4) down into 5th place.
