MINERS WIN OPENING NIGHT VERSUS RAILROADERS

The Miners started off the 2017 season with an 8-7 win at Elmer Kelley Stadium over the Fulton Railroaders. Ryan Brooks belted a grand slam to put Madisonville in the lead, and Logan Jarvis hit a two-run bomb earlier in the game.

Miner hurler Carson Imes picked up the Win in relief of starter Austin Henrich, with Jack Bellinger collecting the first save of the year. Nicholas Hutchison pitched two innings before handing the game off to Bellinger for the final inning.

The Railroaders were paced at the plate by Cory Price and Paul Salata, both of whom went 3-4 on the night. Salata drove in three runs to lead Fulton.

Jackson South took the Loss for Fulton, with starter Taylor Bobo earning a No Decision. Bobo pitched 4 complete innings, striking out seven Miners before giving way to South.  Noah Stern pitched two shoutout innings for the Railroaders as well.
