Oilers Win 22-5 At Elmer Kelley; Hoppers Visit Tuesday Night; Updated Stats

Oilers Down Miners 22-5 Monday Night

The Oilers snapped the Miners’ four game winning streak with a 22-5 blowout victory in Madisonville on Monday night. The loss dropped the Miners (5-4) into fourth place in the OVL standings, while Owensboro (6-3) took over possession of third place.

The Oilers jumped on the Miners early, scoring eight runs in the top of the first inning. Owensboro added five runs in the top of the second and four more in the top of the third inning to make the score 17-2 after three inning of play. The Oilers cruised from there to the 22-5 victory.

Mac Barnes started the game for Owensboro and picked up the win; starting pitcherJack Rettig got the loss for the Miners.

The Oilers were led at the plate by Bailey Montgomery, who went 3-for-4 at the plate with two three-run home runs, three runs scored, and seven total RBI. In all, Owensboro hit five home runs on the night.

Chase Hensley continued his hot hitting for the Miners, batting 2-for-5, scoring two runs, and driving in one run.

Hoppers Visit Tuesday Night
