Wednesday Night: Miners Rally Late To Beat Railroaders 8-7

The Miners scored five runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to pull out a 8-7 walk off win over the visiting Fulton Railroaders.  Connor Moss delivered the game-winning hit, belting a double into the gap to drive in Wesley Birchmeier.

Madisonville took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd when Connor Moss singled to drive in Cory Finkler.  Fulton answered in the top of the 3rd when Kyle Uhrich singled to drive in Clay Reece.

The score stayed tied 1-1 until the top of the 4th.  Tyler Hilton, who reached base on a bloop single, scored on a Miner fielding error on a single by Lucas Eliason and made the score 2-1 through four innings.

Fulton extended the lead with two runs in the top of the 7th, making the score 4-1.  Kipp Moore singled, driving in Brad Baldwin, and Tyler Hilton followed with a single, driving in Ramon Valdez.

Madisonville picked up one run in the bottom of the 7th on an RBI-single by Matt Walsh scored JD Minor and cut the lead to 4-3 heading into the 8th inning.

Fulton seemed to put the game away in the top of the 8th.  Kyle Uhrich hammered a three-rum home run to center field, driving in Griffin Neuer and Brad Baldwin, and made the score 7-3.

The score held until the bottom of the 9th, when Matt Walsh led off the inning for the Miners by reaching base on an error by Kipp Moore.  Shane Connahan followed with single, advancing Walsh to second base.  After Jacob Czimadia struck out for the first out of the inning, Cory Finkler singled to left field, where Tyler Hilton misplayed the ball and allowed Walsh to score the first Miner run of the inning.

Tyler Greiner hit a sharp ground ball to first base, but Railroader first baseman Kyle Uhrich threw the ball into left field trying to get the force out at second base.  The error allowed Connahan to score and Finkler to advance to third base.

EJ Watson entered to game as a pinch runner for Greiner, and Wesley Birchmeier prompty doubled home Finkler and Watson to tie the game at 7-7.  After a foul ball, Moss then roped his game-winning double, scoring Birchmeier and capping the walk off win for the Miners, 8-7.

Railroader reliever Logan Parrett suffered the loss for Fulton, while Colin Hudson followed Miner starter Kyle Vedrode and got the win.
