Miners Fall To Hoppers Tuesday Night, Host Stallions Wednesday Night; Updated Stats

Hoppers Win Over Miners 12-8

The Hoptown Hoppers downed the Miners 12-8 last night at Elmer Kelley Stadium in Madisonville. The Miners outhit the Hoppers 17 to 11 at the plate but could not overcome seven errors in the field.

Hopper starter Chance Carner (2-0) picked up his second win of the season, pitching five complete innings (9H 5R 4ER 2BB 1K). Starter Jeff Lindgren (4.33 IP 5H 7R 3ER 2BB 4K) took the loss for Madisonville and moved his record to 1-1.

Chase Hensley (3-for-4, 2RBI, 2R) continued his hot hitting for the Miners, and Nolan Ramsey (2-for-5, 1RBI, 1R) knocked a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Collin Dupree (3-for-6, 2R), Adam Cox (2-for-3, 2R), Wesley Birchmeier (2-for4, 2RBI), and Josh Finerty (4-for-5, 1RBI) all got in on the action as well.

Chase Schmittou (2-for5, 1RBI, 3R), Grant Robbins (2-for5, 3RBI, 1R) and John O’Dwyer (3-for5, 2RBI, 1R) led the way for the Hoppers at the plate.

The win moves the first-place Hoppers to 8-1 on the season and drops the fouth-place Miners to 5-5.

Miners Host Stallions Tonight
