Oilers Defeat Miners 6-2 At Elmer Kelley; Team Notes; Updated Stats

Oilers 6, Miners 2 – July 6

The Oilers (13-17) extended their winning streak to four games with a 6-2 victory of the Miners (15-16) at Elmer Kelley Stadium on Thursday night. The loss was the Miners’ second straight and dropped them three games behind first place Hoptown in the OVL West standings.

Ramsey added to Miners roster

We are thrilled that Nolan Ramsey joined the Miners after completing a summer internship and will be available to designate hit for us the rest of the season. Nolan is a redshirt sophomore at the University of Alabama – Huntsville and hails from New Market, Alabama. Nolan played for the Miners in 2015 and 2016.

Miners in Fulton Friday night

The Miners make their final regular season visit to Lohaus Field in Fulton tonight to face the Railroaders (11-17). If you haven’t been to “The Yard,” it’s worth the trip to see the ballpark and the “Little Monster” in right field.
